The Bellwood Manor

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place. It’s a well run establishment with just 8 rooms, nicely furnished and comfortable, and the shower pressure was surprisingly good. The turn down service with a hot water bottle was a nice touch. Set meals were varied and good, with the chef explaining each course, and breakfast offered a choice of Western or Sri Lankan. The jacuzzi was excellent, though the sauna and steam room weren’t hot enough. The main drawback was the young staff, who didn’t seem trained enough, especially for booking vehicles. More experienced managers should supervise guest requests, and the staff would benefit from proper training and regular reviews.

The food looked like art, and every bite had a lovely balance of sweet and savory. I came for high tea in beautiful surroundings, with a wonderful atmosphere and fabulous, helpful service. It was the best high tea I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The hotel felt elegant and classy, like an oasis, with design that blends modern luxury and classical architecture. Highly recommend it for a special occasion. Thank you very much!

The care from the people is what made Bellwood Manor feel like home instead of a hotel. We felt welcomed, seen and valued, and each interaction was personal and sincere. Chef Rohana, thank you for meals that were delicious and comforting, made with love. Hansika, Pathum, Ravidu, and Staicy, your kindness, smiles and thoughtful attention meant a lot to us. As a couple, we found the beautiful rooms cozy and elegant, with a calm, comforting feel that let us slow down and simply be together. Every part of the hotel felt peaceful, inviting and cared for. From the moment we arrived, we felt a rare warmth and genuine hospitality. Our stay will always be special to us. We left with lovely memories, full hearts, and a strong wish to return. Highly recommended for couples looking for comfort, warmth and heartfelt hospitality.

We came to celebrate our 3rd anniversary, and during high tea the whole staff, including the head chef, surprised us with an anniversary cake. They even came out to see us off when we left. Shaan is an excellent manager, and everyone here has such big hearts. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. We’ve stayed at plenty of hotels, but loved this whole experience from check-in to check-out, and this one will stay close to our hearts.
