Waking up to tea pickers at work and those balcony views was a lovely, authentic part of our stay at The Tree House in Nuwara Eliya. The property sits in the middle of a lush tea estate. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and they even surprised us with a thoughtful farewell gift. Breakfast was delicious and made for relaxed mornings. Getting transport could be tricky because it’s a bit far from central Nuwara Eliya, but the setting and hospitality more than made up for that.

We got a nice tour, and the staff member explained everything clearly. I enjoyed the black tea and special Christmas cake at the end. There were good options for buying green tea.

The hosts made the stay feel special, always warm, welcoming, and ready to help. Our deluxe room at the Tea Garden in Nuwara Eliya was comfortable and cozy, and the charming house has beautiful views over the tea plantations. I truly loved my stay. Thank you for the hospitality!

Vinoo, the caretaker, served us one of the best breakfasts we’ve had. There’s no lunch or dinner service, though our host was happy to suggest places that take food orders. We found Pizzahut, KFC and dominos, and Taste of India, about 1.7km away, delivers if you call or order on whatsapp. Global kitchen, around 1.3km away, also has great food. We spent two delightful days at The Tea Garden. On the first day, we had a problem with the bed, but the manager promptly moved us to a more comfortable room when we mentioned it. There’s a nearby buddhist temple with morning and evening prayers over a loudspeaker, so it can get a bit loud at those times.

The rooms had hot water and heaters, which were great on chilly nights. The place has lovely architecture and a peaceful setting, and it’s just a short ride to downtown. Staff were friendly and the food was great. Highly recommend!
