The hosts were friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive, and the rooms were quiet and dark at night. Everything was spotless, with great amenities: hot and cold water in the washrooms, a fridge for storing water, a very comfortable bed, and towels and toilet roll provided. Both the air-con and fan worked perfectly. We had such a lovely stay at Hispaniola inn and would definitely recommend it. Nothing to fault.

We stayed for two weeks and everything was great. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the large, bright rooms had a shared kitchen. It’s a quiet spot between Welligama and Merissa.

One of the best parts was the walk toward Merissa, taking the side paths through fields and forest. You’ll need transport to reach Merissa or Weligama, though. The stay itself was comfortable and inexpensive, with really lovely hosts. For this price range in Asia, it was probably the cleanest place I’ve stayed.
