The hosts were kind and respectful, and the garden around the room made it feel peaceful and close to nature. It’s still near some great places to eat. They arranged a sunrise trip to Pidurangala Rock for us, then we came back to the best breakfast we had in all of Sri Lanka. The room was spacious and lovely, with everything two people might need: a mini fridge, electric kettle, tea cups, bottled water, clean towels and sheets, shampoo, and soap. One of the best places in Sri Lanka. Highly, highly recommended!

Sigiri Flower Guest is a real gem, with lovely surroundings and nice, clean rooms equipped with AC. The homemade breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Nilante, the owner, also took us on an elephant safari. He knows a lot and treats the animals respectfully, so the experience was both fun and educational. A fantastic place to stay!

Thank you so much for a lovely time at Sigiri Flower Guest! The clean, lovely rooms have a little garden in front. Breakfast is freshly cooked by the host family and was delicious, and so was the dinner Nilantha’s wife made for us. I’d highly recommend staying here!

The food was fantastic, especially breakfast, which changed a little each morning and usually had hoppers, eggs, fruit, dessert pancakes, and more. We walked to Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala Rock on separate mornings, though you could get a short tuk-tuk ride instead. Just down the street is Kaluwara Restaurant, run by Ishy. We had our favourite meal in Sri Lanka there, and signed up right away for his cooking class the next morning. If you enjoy food, I highly recommend it. When we visited, he also had some vaccinated puppies and a giant squirrel he was nursing. Our stay at Sigirya Flower Guest was fantastic from start to finish, and the room was gorgeous for the price. It had a double four poster bed with mosquito net, table and chairs, a hot shower with good pressure, big windows, and a little patio overlooking a beautiful garden. I messaged Nilathe about an elephant safari at Minneriya that afternoon. He explained that the season was better suited to Huluru at the time, and we were happy to take his advice. We arrived later than planned, but he was flexible and took us when we were ready in a comfortable jeep. His quote was the lowest we’d heard, 18,000 for 2pax. At our request he stopped at a fantastic, very clean street food place on the way. The safari was the best. He tried to steer clear of the big jeep crowds, and we saw a two-week-old baby elephant with four females just metres from our car, with no other jeeps around. We saw lots of other elephants too, but that moment was especially special. It was raining, though my partner and I wanted to keep the roof open. Nilathe gave us an umbrella so we could stand and stay a bit drier. He’s a lovely man.
