Tepraas Sigiriya

We spent one night in the two-bedroom apartment, but left because it was damp, dim, dated, and smelled bad. The hotel rooms might be better, since we only tried the apartment. Service was exceptional, though, and there was work happening during our visit, so maybe they’re making some upgrades.

Easy to get to from the main road, and a great place to stay if you're visiting Sigiriya to experience the Cabana tradition.

We liked the spacious rooms, and the staff were friendly at times, but we can't recommend the hotel after what happened. On arrival, late on our first day, we ordered dinner and they forgot the vegetarian meal. At checkout, after we'd paid, we realised we'd also been charged for drinks we never ordered. I messaged the hotel, but staff said the bill was correct. We'd ordered two drinks, not four. We know what we asked for. If tourists are being charged extra this way, that's very wrong.

The hotel itself is very nice, and the other staff were okay, but the reception girl was always angry and didn't know how to respect customers. When we arrived, she didn't welcome us properly or seem to care about guests. This was my first bad hotel experience. I hope the owner sees this. I was also hoping to get the owner's number because I run a tourism company and wanted to discuss future business and a good rate for another booking. She wouldn't give me the contact number. Anyway, thank you.
