Aigburth Villa

I’m still craving the meals Aunty Ramya made. They had that authentic Sri Lankan taste, and we enjoyed every one. Her cooking is excellent. The location, surroundings, and view were priceless, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. One of the best holiday bungalows I’ve stayed in. Love this place.

The rooms and service were spot on, and the food was amazing. This is one of the best hotels I’ve visited so far. If I had one complaint, it’s that the place is almost too beautiful.

The team worked really well together, and the service was very good. It’s set in a quiet area, and everything seemed arranged to suit the time. A lovely place to stay, and you can leave feeling happy.

The food was a real highlight, with tasty dishes and a good range of flavors for different preferences. The staff were welcoming and courteous, and our interactions with them were pleasant. Service was adequate, though at times it could have been quicker and more efficient. There were some real frustrations too. We were told the normal check-in time was 6:00 PM because our meals started with dinner, even though 2:00 PM is the usual check-in time at other hotels and villas. This wasn’t made clear when we booked, and it wasn’t practical or acceptable for people travelling from Colombo. We had to pay an extra 22,500/=, or 2500 per head, for early check-in. The pool looked cloudy, its poolside seemed neglected, and there was no water filtering system. That left me concerned about hygiene and maintenance. Getting to Aigburth Villa was also difficult: the road was in poor condition, with potholes and uneven patches that were challenging for vehicles with low ground clearance. That took away from the stay. My stay at Aigburth Villa had both good and disappointing parts. The friendly staff, food, and service were positives, but the early check-in charge, pool condition, and rough road were drawbacks. Improving those areas could make the experience more consistently enjoyable.
