Sleeping to the gentle sound of the ocean, then waking up to it again, made this such a peaceful and lovely spot. Talalla Bay Beach House is a quirky beachfront place tucked among the trees, with fantastic stairs down to the beach and even an outdoor shower attached to a tree trunk. Nilmini's cooking is so, so yummy. Really special place, highly recommend staying here!

The bay is shallow enough to swim in throughout the year, which was a lovely bonus. Most of the time we had the beach to ourselves, and it's only a short drive or tuk ride to other bays to explore. It's a peaceful, serene place for a group trip or a solo getaway. The hosts really make it. Wemela Uncle and Nilmini Aunty gave us wonderful service, made us feel safe, and served extremely good food and drinks. I couldn't have asked for more for our girls' weekend. Highly recommended.

For a very reasonable price, we woke up right beside the sea in a gorgeous, unspoilt bay. The beach house is simple but just right, and Talalla was the highlight of everywhere we stayed along the south coast. Nilmini and the team were incredible with their hospitality and food. What a magical spot. I couldn't recommend it more!

The waves were lovely to fall asleep to, and going for a swim first thing in the morning was one of the best parts. When we arrived, little monkeys were jumping on the coconut trees to welcome us. We also had a view of the ocean, and Nilmini cooked us a fantastic dinner. Thanks so much, it was a very pleasant stay!

The beach is right on the doorstep, and I was so well looked after by Nilmini and Frances, who were friendly and considerate. I also loved being able to join yoga classes at The Retreat next door. I only stayed a couple of nights at Talalla, but I'm already planning a longer visit. I couldn't have relaxed more. Fabulous place to stay, and I can't wait to come back!
