The food was great, and the setting was fantastic. Dilan and Lanka were both so accommodating and went out of their way to help with our accommodation needs. The rooms are basic, but well placed, and they were willing to adjust things to suit us.

The room felt wet and extremely humid, and it was dark and dirty. The restaurant kitchen looked dirty too. The beach is only a minute away, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The owner seemed to smile only when money was involved, and I wouldn't trust him. Tangalle felt completely touristy to me, and there are nicer beaches along Sri Lanka's south coast.

The room smelled dusty and felt dark and damp. We hadn't booked here, we were offered it as a replacement after our hotel couldn't find our booking. We tried running the fan for two hours to make it bearable, but decided we couldn't stay. The owner started shouting and insisted we pay for the whole night, threatening to lock us in if we didn't. I'd avoid this place. There are plenty of other options nearby.

We tried several things from the menu and really liked the fresh fish. There's a good range of dishes, so it seems like most people could find something they like. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the ocean view is magnificent, just like in the photos, with the sound of the waves too. Fantastic place, highly recommend it!

I spent about a week here in July, when it was low season and there were hardly any tourists. From the patio you can sit back and watch the waves break, which was lovely. It's great value for a beachfront place, and the staff were kind and helpful. They even let me put up a slackline on the palm trees in front of the beach.
