Shanika Beach Inn

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, which is handy since breakfast isn't included. The owner was also quick to help whenever we had a question. Our room had a comfortable bed, AC, a fan, and a slightly dated but useful fridge. It was spacious, with an adequate bathroom and hot shower, plus a great balcony looking over the beach. The location is perfect, just 10 steps from the sand, and we didn't hear the bars across the road in the evening. Lovely part of Tangalle for the price.

The beachfront spot is great, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. If you stay, you must eat at Happy Mount, google map it. There's also free sunbeds across the road if you buy food or drinks at their bar. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, the AC worked well, the bathroom was fully functional, and the balcony was great. Excellent value. Would come back.

We felt very comfortable here, right by a superb beach. The sea view from the large balcony was wonderful, and you could hear the waves. It had two upholstered chairs outside, plus two armchairs and a table indoors. The room also had a four-poster bed with white sheets and duvet, a good mattress, chest of drawers, clothes rack, quiet fridge, and kettle. Light-colored tiles continued into the bathroom, where there was a squeegee in the shower. The supermarket is 100m away and town about 1000m. No breakfast is offered.

Plenty of places for food and drinks are only a few steps away. The host and staff were kind, and the beach is just as close. At night you can listen to the waves as you fall asleep.
