Maison D'hotes Sanda Beach

I can’t recommend this place. The bathroom was in terrible shape, and there was no balcony even though one was advertised. The price was extremely high, especially since other places for a third of the cost were much better by comparison.

The manager was very polite, and the location was superb, but the room standards made this a disappointment. After booking based on the Google reviews, I was let down. There was no private balcony in the rooms, no complimentary bottled water, and the toilets were below average and badly in need of renovation. Breakfast was pathetic: omelettes, toast, and some cut fruit. Flies were all over the table, so we had to finish eating in just a few minutes.

We stayed three nights as a group of five and had a great time. The service was great, and getting to know Drew was just awesome. The beach is very close, so it’s easy to leave your things at the hotel and head out for a swim. Breakfast was good, and the rooms have AC, which matters when it gets so hot. The building is nice, and the view from the second floor is great. The bathroom was clean, but the sheets smelled and didn’t seem clean. There’s a sewage area nearby, so the smell around it wasn’t pleasant. Getting there by car or on foot is difficult, and the path is poorly lit at night. Breakfast could be better, too. This was the only place where the owner gave us a bad exchange rate from USD to LRK.
