Vista Paradise Beach Resort

The place looked nothing like the pictures, and we eventually left the so-called "resort" because of the poor facilities and service. Getting there was a problem: the road is so narrow that two cars can't pass, and there's no parking. There was no front entrance either. We had to go round the back through the restaurant to a small office they called reception. Check-in was supposed to be at 12pm, but even after arriving at 2:30pm, the room wasn't ready. We waited another 30 minutes in the restaurant, where the tables were dirty, dogs slept underneath, and the kitchen looked borderline unhygienic. The beach was full of rubbish and didn't seem safe or "family friendly" as advertised. The pool clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while and was being used for scuba-diving practice. Once the room was ready, we went up a dirty staircase and found rubbish in the corridors. The room was okay compared with the rest of the building, but nowhere near worth what we paid, SLRS 85, 906 for two nights, even after a 20% discount. There were still wet floors when we entered, and the fridge was dirty and broken. The balcony railing was very low and unsafe, especially for children, and the balcony connected with the other rooms, which raised privacy and safety concerns. Water covered the bathroom floor. It was old and poorly maintained, with chipped tiles and grout that was completely black. Having the shower inside the bath was also a significant inconvenience for children. Until then, there had basically been no service, and it was hard to tell who worked there because nobody seemed to have a uniform. When we asked one of the women working there to help find the remote, she took it from a cupboard and wiped it on the towels left on the floor to dry the wet hallways. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially families. It wasn't worth the money.

It's a great spot, especially for a one-night stay, and there's a diving and snorkeling center right next door. The rooms are really good, although they can take a bit to cool down; the AC works very well once it does. The pool is very good, and they have cute dogs. Breakfast was nice, with juice, cut-up mango, bread, eggs, and sausages. There isn't an elevator. The location is hard for big cars to get into, so I'd suggest arriving by tuk or scooter.

The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the beach, and the spacious rooms worked well for our friends' outing. We stayed one night with family, and nearby snorkeling added an adventurous touch to the vacation. But service and professionalism need a lot of work. The staff were friendly, though they didn't seem trained in hospitality or basic etiquette. The pool water was salty, the washrooms weren't clean, and the food choices were limited. The narrow entrance road made it inconvenient for larger vehicles, and stray dogs and hygiene issues around the property made things uncomfortable. I wouldn't call it suitable for families. If you're mainly using the room at night and spending your days outdoors, it's a decent choice. With better staff training and attention to hygiene, the place has real potential. It was a fun experience, but there is room for improvement.

The place is brilliant, but the rooms need better upkeep and cleaning. The AC especially didn't cool enough, and I hated being unable to stay in the room during the day. That's the biggest downside for me. The service was friendly and okay, and the food was good, though there wasn't much of it. In the end, the place was okay.
