River Side Hotel

Jami River Hotel in Tissamaharama was one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. The place is peaceful and beautiful, right by the river, and a lovely spot to rest after a safari or a day out. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well kept, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, some of the best we had on the trip. The owners were kind, welcoming, and attentive from the start. They organized our safari too, with great timing, a good guide, and everything running smoothly. It was unforgettable and stress-free. You can feel how much care they've put into the hotel. It felt like a home away from home, and we'd absolutely stay again. Highly recommend.

I went out very early for a full-day safari and got back late in the evening. The host kindly welcomed me both when I left and when I returned. You can borrow a bicycle for free to explore the area, too. Such warm hospitality makes this a wonderful place to stay when visiting Yala National Park. The host really goes out of their way to make your stay special. I highly recommend it for genuine, family-style hospitality in Sri Lanka.

We were lucky enough to spot several animals, including an elusive leopard, on our Safari tour with Dilanka. We had a wonderful stay at JAMI with Sunethera and her family. They were so helpful and booked our activities in and around Yala.
