Srimali's Residence

Srimali’s is centrally placed, with shops nearby and the beach within walking distance. Our room had lots of space, strong AC and fan, and a huge bathroom. The hosts were welcoming and helpful throughout. We had a great time and hope to come back.

The owners and his wife were kind and tried their best to help with advice. The room was large, with a big bathroom, hot water, AC, fan, and a safe. There’s one mini-fridge that gets moved between rooms. Breakfast was simple and nice: toast with jam and butter, an egg dish or pancakes, a small fruit plate, and tea or coffee. It usually starts at 8:30, but they served ours at 08:00 when we asked. The balcony looked out onto greenery, and the beach was a 10-minute walk. Laundry costs 350 rupees per kg. There were cleanliness and maintenance problems: old dirty marks on the sheets, dirty windows, and a spider web on the mirror. We had to ask for soap and toilet paper, which were then brought. The building is between the main road to Matara and the local road to the beach, so it was noisy from both sides.

I meant to stay one night at Srimalis, then decided to add another. The room and bathroom were both huge, and there were two balconies, towels, aircon, and breakfast included. I had the curry for dinner too, and it was delicious. Recommended!

Though it’s just off the main road, the place is quiet, with greenery all around and a lovely view from the balcony. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean, with air conditioning and a private balcony. The owners are pleasant, friendly, and helpful with what guests need.
