Skywalker Guest House

SkyWalker has a lovely riverside setting, a terrace, and great rooms, all of which make for a calm break from Weligama’s bustle. It was clean, the room had enough space, and we thought it was fairly priced. We’d be happy to return. Getting into town takes a 15 to 20 minute walk, or a tuk tuk that costs about 300 LKR, but the quieter setting suited us. One thing to know from the photos: the toilet has no door. Hot water also isn’t one of the property’s strong points.

Gayan made us a lovely breakfast and gave us a good feel for the Weligama area. He was friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to, and even invited us in to sit and listen while I played guitar. He was one of the kindest hosts we met on our trip, and seemed to care about us as people, not just tourists. We’ve kept in touch and I’d recommend staying here. The riverside gardens are lovely, the building has been renovated really well, and the place was very clean when we arrived.

What made our stay at Skywalker House so lovely was the host, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and ready to help whenever we needed something. We felt very welcome and well looked after. Our room was clean and spacious, and its peaceful, cozy spot beside the river was just right for relaxing. The place feels warm and hospitable, and we’d wholeheartedly recommend it! 🌿✨

We only booked one night, but liked it enough to stay longer. The guesthouse is very clean, with a comfortable bed and a mosquito net, which I really need. It’s by the river, surrounded by nature, and monkeys may come knocking, so don’t be surprised! The beach and town are nearby, especially if you have a scooter.
