The prices were surprisingly close to what we pay in Johannesburg, and for what we got, it didn’t feel worth the money. There were plenty of waitresses, but we still had to chase someone whenever we needed anything. I suspect the kitchen and waiting staff may need better training, and hope management takes that seriously so we might come back one day. We stopped for a family lunch during the festive season while traveling from Johannesburg. There was a loud event outside, and several menu items had run out. The waitress did tell us upfront that our order could take two hours, which I appreciated. It took an hour and 45 minutes for everyone’s food to arrive. My dish and my toddler’s came first for some unclear reason, leaving us watching the rest of the food get cold while we waited. At least we could eventually eat together.

Right in the town center, it’s a handy place to stay overnight on the way to wherever you’re headed.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but I’d avoid staying here if possible. The rooms are run down, with stained carpets and mold on the ceilings. I’d avoid the restaurant too and get something from the ShopRite next door. At 900 Rand, I expected more.

The food was delicious, and the place gives you a real natural feel right in the heart of Hlotse town.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the Lesotho trout was cooked just right. The baked goods were amazing too, though the vegetables with the trout weren’t great and seemed to have been frozen before. The rooms were fairly nice, but could use more regular maintenance. I had a great experience overall, with a few small things that could be improved.
