The room was cozy and clean, but I didn’t feel safe, which is a basic thing I expect from a hotel. At 1 a.m. an intoxicated stranger tried to get into my room, and I was frightened enough to call the police. There wasn’t any staff on site, and the outside door on the ground floor had a broken lock. I appreciate that I received a refund, though this is about more than money. I’m sharing this honestly in the hope things improve for future guests, especially women traveling alone. For what was offered, €50 felt like too much in a small town. I’ve included a photo of how I had to barricade the door and spend the night after the incident. I hope the experience gets better for future travelers.

The room was spacious and fine, but we couldn’t get the shower to work. We arrived in the afternoon and nobody was there, so we checked ourselves in using a door code.

We liked how dark the room got at night. The black roller blinds covered the windows well, which made sleeping more comfortable. The room itself was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated, with a kettle, tea and coffee, local TV channels, fresh towels, shampoo, and a hair dryer. The staff were helpful, polite, and friendly. Avanti Hotel is right in the center of Biržai, handy for the main sights and local shops. We had cottage cheese pancakes with sour cream and cherry jam at the restaurant, and they were delicious. There’s a weekday lunch menu too. We had a great night there and would recommend Avanti Hotel to anyone staying in Biržai.

At 68 euros, this was a complete rip-off. The shower leaked, the walls were paper thin, there was no AC, and the TV had only two channels. It wasn’t worth spending a penny here. If you need somewhere in Biržai, I’d check hotel "Tyla" instead.

The location puts you right in the middle of things, with something to do whichever way you head. The rooms are fantastic, the beds are comfortable, and there’s coffee, tea, and a kettle. Some rooms also have a fridge.
