We loved the villa’s views, its spa, and the well-kept grounds, and the waiting staff were lovely and helpful. But the service from management left a lot to be desired. I was there for a wedding with the whole villa booked, and the general manager seemed unapproachable and unwilling to accommodate guests. Breakfast was already paid for by the couple, but guests who slept past the breakfast hours after the party weren’t offered any food. The manager said only the newlyweds could have food left out, and wouldn’t even leave a tray on the outdoor tables. The same thing happened with coffee and tea the next morning. Early guests were kept from the self-service machine while the area was being set up. There was also an upsetting dispute over a guest who got sick during the night and didn’t make it to the bathroom. The manager initially said it was okay, but later stopped the last guests and asked for 340 EUR for replacement sheets, saying they would be thrown away instead of washed. When the couple asked to see them, cleaning staff were already working on them. To avoid more drama, the couple paid a 150 EUR cleaning fee, but the whole thing felt dishonest, especially after they’d spent so much to hire the venue and catering. Guests were also repeatedly told to leave their cabins or face fines, even though just one room out of 50 was running a little late. We wanted people to enjoy the celebration without being pulled into these behind-the-scenes matters. This villa has a lot of potential, but with this lack of Lithuanian hospitality, I don’t see it going far.

For a big celebration, this is a lovely, peaceful spot. It has the feel of a top-quality resort, and I’d happily pick it again for my next celebration.

A peaceful place that works well for couples and families, with a small spa in the forest nearby that we really enjoyed. The hostess was very welcoming and everything felt top-notch. If the weather might be poor, though, plan ahead for things to do at the villa.

The pond, forest, and deer farm made the area feel especially lovely, and we even took a dip in the lake. The spa is thoughtfully designed, and we had a great time there. The kubilas was also very good, though it started to feel a little cold after 2.5 hours. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here last weekend with guests from 7-8 countries, and everyone had a wonderful time. The staff and owner Rūta were warm and genuine, and did their best to handle all our wishes, even the last-minute ones. Hotel manager Asta took care of everything and made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The food was great too. Thanks to Barono Vila owners and staff for making the celebration unforgettable for all of us. We’ll definitely come back!
