Hotel - Bar Grafaite

The atmosphere is cosy, and the staff are friendly and speak Lithuanian and English. It's a traditional-style hotel, with clean, practical rooms offering single or double beds. The food is really good and reasonably priced, and there's a MAXIMA supermarket across the road, about a minute away on foot. There's also an electric charging station for your eCar.

The worst part was how the staff dealt with problems. A very loud party went on in the hotel "bar" until at least 1:30 on Saturday night, despite the restaurant closing at 21:00. Reception didn't try to find a solution and said I had to accept it because there was a bar downstairs. Another staff member on Monday also saw no problem. I wasn't allowed to speak with the manager and was told to write a complaint, which I did. I got no response, and it may have been thrown away. One receptionist was nice, but that wasn't enough for even a second star. Avoid this place. The room was just as bad. Almost all are in the attic, where temperatures get extreme, with no AC or adequate ventilation. Mine had only a tiny window facing a loud street, so fresh air wasn't an option if I wanted to sleep at night or work during the day. Even on the hottest days, the bathroom heating was on. Breakfast was very poor, and later the restaurant kept me waiting 45 minutes for mediocre cepelins, despite having no other customers. This was without doubt the worst of the 10 hotels I've stayed at in Lithuania.

I arranged a five-day hotel booking, including tours and activities, and had everything set up. Then, just a few days before I was due to arrive, the hotel made me cancel the reservation. After checking into it, it seemed they wanted to cancel because of the season and higher prices, and had deceived me. Unfortunately, a bad hotel.

The restaurant area was really nice, and breakfast was very good, with awesome coffee. Staff were helpful and accommodating, and speaking English was no problem. The rooms weren't as nice as the restaurant, but they were okay and the beds were comfortable. I'd come again :)
