We only ate at the restaurant, where a festive family meal was being served at a neighboring table. The place is right in the heart of Ignalina, so it’s ideally located for travelers.

The playground beside the building looks like fun, and there’s a lovely area nearby for a relaxing walk. I stopped for lunch too: the view was fabulous, and the food was simple, familiar combinations, but prepared well.

This weekend’s visit felt completely different from the one we had 5 or 6 years ago. The food was hot, nicely presented, a good size, and, most importantly, really tasty. Service was quick and welcoming: we got menus as soon as we sat down, our waitress took our drink order, the starters came soon after we ordered, and the mains arrived once we’d finished them. Last time, everything went badly, with slow service, poor food quality, meals arriving over half an hour apart, and staff who seemed not to care. We had a very good experience this time and will be back in the near future.

The prices are the best part, with a dish costing around 8 eur. The other dishes were good, but the potato pancakes had no salt and weren’t tasty. They could use some extra sauce because they were too dry. Still, it’s a good place.

Breakfast was very good, and the beds were comfortable. The room was small, but that worked fine for me. The shower was good too, and the location is the main thing going for the place.
