It's an old-fashioned place, but affordable and very close to the highway. Our room was on the second floor, and there isn't an elevator. The bathroom had been nicely renovated, while the TV was small and had a limited choice of channels. The mattresses were OK, and the highway noise was there but tolerable. If you book breakfast, expect some surprises. Reception staff may not be there when you arrive, but they have an old-fashioned bell device you hit with your palm. It goes PING.

We arrived very late, exhausted, and had a clean, cozy room within two minutes. It cost 68 euros for three people, and we slept really well. The place is beautiful, original and tastefully done. The room was clean and had good facilities, including hot water. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke several languages well. There were a couple of niggles: the toilet kept running heavily, wasting water all the time, and I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed. The shower drain was slow too, though that was minor. I'd recommend staying here.

The staff were unbelievably rude. We paid 16 euros for breakfast for two, which we'd ordered to the room, but it never arrived. When we went to the lobby to ask what happened, they tried to blame us, saying we hadn't ordered it “in the room.” They pointed us to a spot in the restaurant, if you can even call it that. Everything was dirty, and the breakfast was terrible.

Our second-floor room was fresh and really nice. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows and blankets felt clean. I expected worn carpets, cobwebs and smoke residue after reading older reviews, but it was nothing like that. Maybe they'd renovated since then. The bathroom was spacious, though the shower itself was tiny and the water temperature shifted a bit. We could live with that. Staff spoke English, and breakfast was very good. This place turned out to be a huge surprise. If you're hesitating about booking a night while passing through, you can stop hesitating.

Being near the motorway is a plus when you're on a business trip. The corridor was OK, but the room had modest, old equipment. That wasn't too bad; the bathroom was in much worse shape, with yellow spots on the wall and poor condition throughout.
