The gift voucher problem was what stayed with me. The hotel had issued it without a registration number, then refused to accept it when I tried to use it because that number was missing. I spent several days trying to prove it was valid, and the responsibility for the hotel's mistake was put on me. The administrator asked for payment confirmation, buyer details, and other information. I sent everything requested, but they still said vouchers without numbers were invalid. It was only sorted out after the hotel director got involved. Rather than simply apologizing, I was told the director had made an “exception” by letting me use the €200 voucher, which had been paid directly to the hotel. Nobody apologized at check-in or check-out. Being treated like I might be taking something I wasn't entitled to, even though I was a legitimate customer, was deeply unpleasant. Leaving without a single apology is what I'll remember longer than the stay. The hotel itself is stylish and has character. The rooms are simple but distinctive, and the SPA is very attractive and “Instagrammable.” The SPA was excellent and the hotel has potential, but the way customers were treated was a real disappointment. The SPA is worth visiting, but I wouldn't recommend buying a gift voucher here because they clearly don't have a proper system for handling them.

We had a family room, and it was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was really nice, and the spa facilities were top class.

At about +28C, the rooms were unbearably hot with no ventilation or temperature control, so we had to sleep with the windows open. Then the garbage truck arrived at 6am, a lovely early wake-up call. The sauna receptionist was horribly rude and started yelling at us because we'd missed her instructions for entering the sauna area correctly. Never again.

The breakfast was the letdown. I paid €20 for a set meal, but the portions were tiny, especially the fruit salad. The eggs tasted good, though the bun was so small it threw off the meal. The hotel and spa were lovely otherwise. I stayed three nights at MICHAELSON Boutique Hotel, and the room was cozy and nicely designed. I could open the windows for fresh air, which I really appreciated, and the bed and pillows were comfortable enough that I slept well every night. I also liked the spa's warm water, stone details, and relaxing feel. It is pricey, though, at €30 for hotel guests and €60 for non-guests. Breakfast could definitely be better.

The riverfront setting was a real highlight, with lovely views and a peaceful feel, while still being an easy walk from the Old Town. The building has historic charm alongside modern comfort, and the large windows look out onto the water. My room was clean, well equipped, and tastefully put together. Staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout. I had a wonderful stay at the Michaelson Boutique Hotel in Klaipėda. It's a unique, stylish, quiet place with a great location and river view, and I'd highly recommend it if you're visiting Klaipėda.
