The biggest problem during my long stay was the noise. The walls were so thin I could hear everything from the other rooms, including things I really did not want to hear. Cars and motorcycles were loud, and noise from other guests continued until midnight, making it impossible to sleep. There was also a strong rubber smell coming from the bicycle shop on the first floor. Guests kept their doors shut to keep it out, but the owners repeatedly opened our doors, apparently thinking that would air out the rooms. They did not seem concerned about what guests wanted. The staff also entered with their keys without knocking to take out rubbish. They did not leave fresh toilet paper or towels, change the bedding, or even clean the floor. A few days before my trip to Marjampole, I called hotel Eiva to ask whether they had a hair dryer and was told they did. When I arrived, there was none, and the owner said she would give me hers. Terrible. Breakfast was awful too: every other day it was cottage cheese pancakes or thin pancakes fried in a lot of oil. I do not eat food without first knowing what it is, and hoped to ask what else was available or see a menu, but there was nothing. Of the four windows, only two had blinds, so the room did not get dark at night. The shower, toilet, room, furniture, and bedding all need a lot of repairs or improvement. I paid quite a lot per night, so owners need to make more effort. Consider all the options for where to stay. I had read that there were good hotels, but unfortunately this was my experience.
