Hotel Synet

I stayed at Synet from 22nd to 28th December, and it wasn’t a great experience. I could hear guests snoring, throwing up, using the toilet and showering through the walls, despite the hotel describing them as thick. They also provided just one small sachet of shower gel for the whole seven days, and didn’t replace the towels. The advertised fast broadband worked well only from the 22nd through the 24th. After Christmas it was too slow for my work, on either of the two laptops I tried. Staff suggested using the router downstairs, but there’s no real workspace there and it was cold, with no heating.

We’re touring the Baltic countries by bike, and this hotel was perfectly fine for a night. There was a locked room for our bikes, which was important. The room was clean and had nice wallpaper. The town isn’t much of a tourist destination, though there’s a pleasant beach by the river for a break.

I’ve stayed here twice and enjoyed both visits. It’s well organized and a nice option for the town, with a good location. Recommend it.

A bit gloomy inside, with a feel like S.King "The Shining" 😃 Otherwise, generally good.
