El Nido

The location is fantastic, but that's about the only thing this hostel has going for it. The rooms were awful, rundown, and dirty, despite the modern, stylish rooms shown in the online pictures. They were totally inadequate for a family and overpriced for what you get. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Be careful if you're considering it. They tried to pay us to delete our reviews, so don't get scammed. I'm assuming the other great reviews here were paid for. Stay at your own risk.

The location is perfect, right by the water and in the center of town. The people working there were friendly and helpful, and the place felt very cute and idyllic. The shared kitchen had all the things you might need, plus there was a grill, lots of outdoor furniture, candy, and great coffee. They mentioned the walls were thin, but I didn't notice anything, and free earplugs were provided. I loved staying there and would absolutely come back.

I don't regret staying here, but I wouldn't return. The staff were nice, and the location was good; the place was clean enough, and the room, while small, had new furniture. Unfortunately, there was just one shower and one toilet for the whole building. It was also very noisy. If you ran into someone who couldn't close a door and kept slamming it, you could say goodbye to sleep.

The shared rooms were clean and well equipped, but the staff could show more interest in guests. The beds and doors were very noisy, and with around 20 people in the building, there was just one bathroom and one shower. Laundry facilities would have been nice. Window screens would help too: at night the room filled with spiders, which wasn't pleasant. The room we got was in a different building from the one shown on the website. The place has a lot of potential, but a lot still needs to be done. Overall, average.
