The Nida campsite used to leave me with a professional, pleasant impression. It has what you need, along with the lovely beach and village nearby. This year, though, the crowding changed things for me. Tents are packed side by side, and the parking is full of people staying overnight. That means long lines for the kitchen, toilets and showers, and far too few refrigerators for so many guests. Dear owners, please keep the quality up. I think August 2025 will be my last visit.

We still enjoyed our stay, and it was very peaceful. The campsite is in a nice location, but the pitches could be better: some aren’t level, there are lots of little stones, and it’s hard to tell where a particular spot is because the numbers aren’t clearly marked. The showers and toilets could have been cleaner, though it wasn’t a disaster.

The campsite is well organized, with dunes and the beach nearby. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre. If you’re into padel, there are three courts, but they’re usually very busy in July, so book ahead.

The location is hard to beat: beaches and dunes are just a few minutes away in either direction, and the town is around a 15 minute walk. We came in mid September, when it was quiet, but the pitches are tiny and close together, so I can see how high season could get noisy and crowded. The bathrooms were already filthy, with old dirt, and they weren’t cleaned once during our three nights. That was especially frustrating during COVID-19 times. The kitchen wasn’t very clean either, and the sinks are so deep they sit about knee height, which is rough on your back even if you’re not tall. The reception was closed when we arrived, but we sorted everything by phone and paid the next day when a staff member was there. Everyone we dealt with was friendly. We paid 30€ for the first two nights and 26€ for the third. It felt expensive given the state of the facilities, but it’s the only campsite, so what can you do.

There are some lovely walks right nearby, and it’s a really nice place. Plenty of showers, though they could offer a bit more privacy.
