Breakfast had a decent selection, and checking in late at night was easy. The staff were friendly. But I was there for a conference and needed to finish my slides, and there was no WiFi in the room. I’d asked for a double bed and got a twin room instead. The room was clean, but badly in need of renovation, with lifting flooring, peeling wallpaper and poor ventilation. The beds were so soft I felt like I was sinking to the floor. The 19-inch TV was pointless. It’s adequate for a quick weekend stop in palanga, but a flop as a business conference venue.

Parking is available, and it’s not too far from the beach or supermarkets. There’s no lift. The walls are thin, and the place is plain, but it’s well kept. The reception staff are wonderful young people. Guests seem to range from rugged sporty types to veteran holiday makers.

We stayed for a night with our family and found it great value. The building is huge, so the WiFi may not reach the farthest areas, but our mobile network worked well and we didn’t need it. Rooms aren’t as new as some might like, but ours was lovely and perfectly clean. It had two separate rooms, one for us with a double bed and one for our two kids, with a bed each. Both rooms had balconies, and there’s a playground in the backyard. Parking is free. Breakfast costs extra, but you can book it for 7 euros per person.

The staff at the restaurant, if that’s what you can call it, were great and friendly, and the housekeepers were very nice too. The hotel itself was very old, though clean, and the online pictures weren’t accurate. I didn’t expect it to be this bad. The last day was awful. They’d booked me for three nights instead of four, and the receptionist made me feel as if it was my fault. I told her to check the form I’d filled out, where I’d written the right dates, before confronting me. At checkout the next morning, they said, “You have to pay for extra night.” Nobody apologized for their mistake. They weren’t sorry at all, as if I were to blame. At 38 euros a night, it was too much stress. It’s cheaper, but next time I’d rather pay more.
