Marijonu Apartments

We left cold and with aching backs. The administrator called our room “lux,” but there was mold on the walls, which just doesn't seem right. I'll look for somewhere else next time.

The room we ended up in was the worst part. We were moved there for some reason, and the walls were splattered with blood, the floor had huge cracks, and a bucket of sticky liquid had leaked in the bedroom. The kitchen barely worked, there were no lights, and most of the sockets were dead. The bed creaked, felt like it might break, and was so uncomfortable that none of us slept. The sheets had holes too. It was winter, -3 degrees, and the windows wouldn't close all the way, so we were trying to sleep in our jackets and all our clothes. I thought about taking a photo, then couldn't be bothered. Better to pay about 100 euros for a warm night's sleep than freeze and maybe get sick. I was just freezing. We came with friends and at first the hotel seemed interesting because it was so far from everything. We hoped the hosts would be good, but seeing them made us question the place. There was a man who looked like he was a pedophile. An old woman showed us to our first room, which wasn't so bad at first, though everything was old, the TV didn't work, and there weren't many beds. Then we were moved to that other room and the nightmare started.

We arrived at night after booking a place to stay, only to be told our reservation meant nothing. Our spot had already been given away, and we were told to find somewhere else.

The room was a disappointment. The towels were already laid out, but they were dirty and hadn't even been folded neatly. The pillows were flat, there was only one sheet per person, and it was so cold that my friend had to sleep in their clothes. The mattress had wires poking out, and we both left with sore backs. They advertised a flat-screen TV, but what we found was a Soviet box. We'd booked a larger room, but were given a smaller one when we arrived at these “apartments.” We called the number on the booking platform, and the woman said she had nothing to do with Panevėžys. Then, as we were explaining the issue to the administrator, the same woman started calling him after a few minutes. What a shame. At least they refunded part of the amount because the room was smaller.
