The area was nice and quiet, and the hotel had a tidy, somewhat colonial look in places. Food was really good, and my room was clean with a nice shower room, though it only had a fridge and TV. The bed was two singles pushed together, with a dip in the middle. You can book a one-hour massage and two hours in the jacuzzi and sauna for a pampering night.

The staff were kind and apologetic, and I liked the Dove toiletries in the bedrooms. Still, this felt more like a 2- or 3-star hotel than a 4-star one. Breakfast wasn't a buffet: you had to choose a dish and a time slot. When I asked for more food, none was available, as though they had prepared exactly enough for the guests and no extra. The rooms were old and the bathtub was clogged. I'd choose somewhere closer to the city center instead of being swayed by the rating.

Vaida made us feel more welcome than I've ever felt at a hotel, and the rooms, spa and brewery restaurant were all top notch. We stayed one night by chance while driving back to Finland from Poland. I couldn't be happier with the unexpected choice to stay here instead of somewhere nearer Via Baltica. I'll definitely come back.

The location was okay, but I left disappointed and with different expectations. My room looked out onto a school playground, and there was a bad sewage smell at reception that also reached my room. The breakfast room wasn't heated, and breakfast itself was simple with a very poor selection.
