The food was a real bright spot. Hotel cooking is often so-so or worse, but we really liked this kitchen, with quality ingredients, a seasonal menu, and an excellent little appetizer. Breakfast was generous and well prepared too. The hotel also has an indoor pool, sauna, Turkish steam bath, infrared cabin, and fitness room. Our room was among the largest, with a very spacious bathroom, and the price seemed fair for that. Everything was spotless and very nice for a 3-star hotel. The beds were good, neither too soft nor too hard, and the fresh bedding smelled pleasant, not musty or overloaded with detergent. We did hear gurgling from the radiator and noise through the walls, and the duvets were rather narrow. Still, we had a very enjoyable stay.

The key mistake was that I trusted the receptionist and didn’t ask for a receipt when we paid €171 in cash. I’ve gone to the police and am due to give my statement on May 10th. I hope they can sort this out. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My fiancé and I paid at reception as soon as we arrived in town. The receptionist was friendly, answered our questions, and handed over the keys, so everything seemed fine. We stayed one night, returned the keys and checked out. About two hours later, Booking.com emailed to say we had left without paying and that the hotel would charge my card. I called to find out what was happening. The receptionist asked me to email my bank details so they could refund me, but after I did, she refused to return the money and said the person who had taken the payment no longer worked there. I asked them to check the reception cameras, but was told they happened to be out of order that day. It seemed strange they stopped working just when I paid. I also asked them to check the cash register, then my emails stopped getting replies. I called again asking for the payment taker’s contact details or for someone to urgently call me back. Nobody responded. I wanted to resolve it while I was still in Luxembourg, rather than after I got back to Belgium. The next day, I reached the same receptionist who had taken the money, but she denied it all and said I hadn’t paid. It’s disappointing that someone would lie over €171. Stay far away.

The room was nothing like the website photos, and the beds were so narrow we nearly fell out. The toilet was cramped, with barely enough room for the door to close, and the bathroom was old-fashioned and dirty. We were woken twice by loud, drunk people in the hallway. The walls were poorly insulated too, since we could hear the water when someone showered in the next room. The reception welcome was unfriendly from the start. The receptionist was curt, condescending, and unhelpful. There is a pool, though it wasn’t much. We asked for a bathrobe and were given one without being told it cost extra. At checkout, the receptionist rudely said, “I don’t care, bad for you, you need to pay this.” My girlfriend and I stayed the nights of September 16 and 17, 2023. I’ve stayed in many hotels, and this was definitely the least friendly. We’ll never come back. Be warned.

It was nice that the staff spoke Dutch, and the room had a really lovely view. The hotel was okay, but nothing special, and I thought it cost too much for what you get. There are better places to stay in the area. The wellness area only included the regular sauna for free. The steam bath and infrared sauna cost extra, which wasn’t mentioned on the website. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Between 13:30 and 15:00 the bar was closed and its lights were off, so it didn’t feel welcoming to sit there. The bathroom floor gets very slippery when wet, and the room ventilation was terrible.

The rooms were comfortable enough, the staff friendly, and the food very good. But a few weeks after our stay, we were diagnosed with scabies. After careful research with the doctor, we concluded it must have come from the hotel. Hygiene could be much better. Getting rid of it took weeks and weeks of expensive treatment. We definitely won’t return.
