The room felt more like a storage space than a place to stay: it had a full wardrobe filled with hotel items and an old solarium. I also had no TV, toilet, or shower, yet paid the same as for a room with those facilities. There’s no parking at the hotel, and the old rooms are so noisy that sleeping with the window open is impossible because of the loud road right outside. The hallway had dirty garbage cans and a vacuum cleaner in it. Breakfast was very basic, and if you arrive late there may be no cold cuts or cheese left. When I questioned the full price for a room without the services I had booked, the hotelier was nasty and unwilling to find a solution. He talked about other guests stealing and having picnics in the rooms, and said he no longer enjoyed work he’d been doing for nearly 30 years. You can feel how unhappy he is with the job and the hotel. This was the worst overnight stay in my 30 years of hotel experience. I won’t come back, and I’ll talk about what happened.

The breakfast was nice, but the room was disappointing. We booked for three, and the third bed was an uncomfortable rollout couch. The toilet wouldn’t flush either. At 150 euros for one night, I don’t think it was worth the price.

The location was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The proprietor was good and very accommodating when I arrived well before the usual 5:00 PM office hours. After traveling some 15 hours from the US, I was very grateful to be able to check in early.

I spoke with the owner and found out the restaurant is definitely closed, even though the sign is still up. At the moment they’re only offering bed and breakfast. I can’t comment on the rooms, but the owner seems kind.

The toilet wouldn’t flush, and the extra bed was uncomfortable. It didn’t even have an extra cushion cover.
