Luxaviation Crew Resort by Airfield

Our room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the host made arriving outside reception hours straightforward by keeping us updated on how to check in. We were in Luxembourg before continuing to Belgium, and the hotel worked out well: a bus from the airport and a short walk brought us there quickly.

We stayed one night before heading to Paris the next day. It’s a modern, nice hotel close to the airport, but the sound insulation keeps the planes from bothering you inside. We’d come back.

The meal at Airfield Restaurant was worth the price, though it isn’t a budget option. The menu could use a few more choices, but the dishes on offer were done very well, and I’d recommend it for a special meal or when you’re after good food in Luxembourg. The standout for me was the Beef Fillet with Pont-Neuf fries and Béarnaise. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The fries had a crisp outside and soft middle, while the rich sauce went beautifully with them. Dessert was just as good: the moist, almondy Financier Cake with fresh strawberries made a lovely sweet finish. Service was attentive and professional throughout. The staff knew the menu and offered recommendations, which helped the evening run smoothly. The menu isn’t extensive, but the food quality and service made the cost feel justified. I started with a CJ Sparrow cocktail. It was fine, though it didn’t make much of an impression beside the dishes that followed.

The atmosphere was nice and the service was friendly, but the food and cocktail recipes need work. The savory dishes we tried were too sweet, and the umami seemed to have disappeared altogether.
