Karlamuiza Country Hotel

We had dinner there on New Year's Eve, and it was a great experience. The breakfast was very good, with local products, and the beds were comfortable. It’s a beautiful, cozy countryside hotel in the Karli region, well placed for exploring nature and smaller cities like Çesis and Sigulda. There’s also a sauna, though 100€ felt a bit expensive.

Those breakfast pancakes were a lovely surprise. The menu had tasty dishes too, and the rooms had an elegant country feel. It’s a cozy spot in the Latvian countryside, especially nice for a break from the city among white, snow-covered fields.

Baiba was such a welcoming hostess and an excellent chef. We fell in love with Karlamuiza Country Hotel and are already looking forward to coming back. It had everything we wanted for a restful stay: beautiful surroundings, elegant rooms, a warm welcome, wonderful service, and delicious food.

The owners were kind and ready to sort out any questions or problems. Kārļamuiža is a lovely place to unwind near Cēsis, with nature and culture around you, whether you’re travelling for work or a holiday. The newer rooms are in a separate, recently reconstructed building. They mix historical details with a modern feel, and the bathroom is spacious. There’s a Smart TV and a mirror with adjustable lighting. Breakfast is served in the main building from 8:30 to 10:00. Dinner is also available for an extra charge, and both need to be booked in advance. In my experience, breakfast at 18 EUR per person is very expensive, even considering the countryside location and local products. Other small drawbacks were the soundproofing, not much lighting in the room, and poor bathroom ventilation. Dinner is only served for a short window, 19:00-21:00, and costs an additional 40 EUR.
