The seashore is spectacular and just a 5-minute walk away, so I didn't care that there were only 5-6 TV programs. I could park my motorcycle right under the windows. I was on a solo motorcycle trip across Kurzeme and usually slept in a tent, but made an exception here, and it was totally worth it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well laid out, with enough room for all my soft panniers and motorcycle clothes. Both the room and hotel felt authentic in a really positive way. The bathroom looked small at first, but worked out just fine for me at 190 cm tall. The breakfast was very nice, and I'd suggest taking it as an option.

The rooms were impeccable, and the cuisine was extremely good. The hotel is cozy and close to the sea, with amazing sunsets late at night. In summer, though, the rooms get too hot and there's no proper air conditioning.

The food is simple, and its quality has gone down over the past years, though the service is fine. It's still worth stopping if you're hungry, as long as you don't expect restaurant quality. The hotel is in a quiet rural area, yet close to the seashore, sightseeing spots and main roads.

The seaside is wonderful, and the location is superb. The apartments are clean, cozy and very nice, especially the shower. The restaurant has a few minor flaws, but in its own category, I'd give it 5 stars.
