Amber Sea Hotel

The location was inconvenient, tucked away among bushes with no practical way to get there without a car. Inside, the room smelled terribly stale, and the odor clung to our clothes. Several maintenance problems were left unresolved despite repeated complaints, so even something like the fridge might not work. There were spiderwebs in most corners and several spiders. At least they supplied slippers, so we didn't have to put our socks on the grimy, ugly carpet. Noise came through the walls badly, and the TV didn't get a single channel. The spa is tiny, with one small pool and two saunas where you can't throw löyly, so they were just hot rooms. The spa receptionist didn't seem to know much about the facility she worked at. The gym was so small it was really only suitable for one or two people. Breakfast was a complete letdown and nowhere near worth 15€, maybe 5€. Most food was gone within the first half hour. The only worker refilled the dishes only halfway, so they emptied again right away. The vegetables tasted moldy, and there was just one kind of bread, cut into ridiculously small pieces. The dining area was cramped, and service in the restaurant outside breakfast disappointed too. Staff often seemed annoyed, and their limited English caused mix-ups. There was also poor communication among employees, which led to even more confusion. Basic customer service was missing, even a hello or a smile, and the hotel seemed understaffed and poorly trained. The four-star expectation was much higher. This was a huge disappointment, and we'll never return. It's definitely not a four-star hotel, more like a three or two, and you can find much better for less.
