Hotel Jurmala Spa & Conference Center

I only used the wellness area's SPA, so keep that in mind. For a quieter visit, I'd go on a weekday around midday or in the afternoon. Weekends get packed, especially with families and kids, though there are couples too. I'd recommend it for a casual short visit, but the experience felt a little underwhelming to me. Maybe spas just aren't my thing. The staff were pleasant and friendly, and service was great. Parking is plentiful nearby, with free and paid options. You can get a discount on paid parking by the entrance if you register at reception. The SPA has the basics covered: aromatic, Finnish (100°C), kids' and salt saunas, plus some others. There's a cold plunge, a bucket of cold water to tip over yourself after the sauna, and a high-pressure shower. I didn't get to enjoy the jacuzzis because there weren't many and they were all occupied. Some of the pool bubblers by the bar weren't working and need attention.

The food was really good and the desserts were perfect. The main downside for me was the cold: the pool area felt chilly, one pool was too cold for me, and I felt cold getting out of the saunas too. If you don't like the cold, I wouldn't recommend it.

I can only give Oasis spa three stars, and that's generous. It was crowded on Thursday evening, and nobody seemed to enforce the towel rules in the saunas. There aren't free towels or slippers. You can rent a towel for two euros, but slippers aren't available at all. When I go to a spa to relax, I don't want to have to think about these basics, especially when the hotel name includes SPA. The shampoo situation was ridiculous too: there was no proper shampoo, and I'm obviously not washing my hair with cheap hand soap. I couldn't find a swimsuit dryer, and there wasn't even a bag in the bathroom to put my swimsuit in. This review is about Oasis spa, not the hotel itself. Never again.

I love this hotel, but why does a nice place like this never answer its reception phone? I couldn't get through to anyone at any time, day or evening. After trying for an hour, I gave up. Completely unacceptable. I won't stay here. Baltic Beach Hotel answered in 16 seconds, for comparison.
