The equipment rental was fairly quick, and the staff were helpful. Milzkalns has runs for different abilities, from an easy beginner slope to harder hills, plus a snow park for freestyle. It's one of Latvia's best spots for skiing and snowboarding, and the slopes are well organized and maintained. Weekends can get crowded, so a weekday morning is a better bet if you want more space. After a few hours on the snow, Milžu krogs cafe nearby is a good place to warm up with hearty food.

The snow was pretty hard and icy when we came near the end of the season, but we still had a good visit. The staff were helpful and spoke English, and it was great that the kids' ski instructors could teach in English too. They learned quite a bit in their hour. Good value for money.

Friday from 12.00-14.00 was a great time to ski, with hardly anyone around.

The instructors are really friendly and nice, and they all speak English. Remember to call and reserve, since there is a limit due to covid. The slopes aren't too extreme, but there are different ones to choose from, and it's a great place to ski in latvia.

There's a nice canteen where you can get your energy back. It's a great place for skiers, though it can get crowded on popular days, especially in the equipment rental queue.
