Everything about the stay was deplorable. I booked by phone while looking for somewhere at short notice. The double room cost 50 euros without breakfast, and its condition and cleaning were absolutely unacceptable. The room was an acceptable size and looked okay, with a large bed, but the toilet and shower setup was awful. As soon as you open the door, the floor slopes down in front of you. The toilet is opposite, with the sink beside it, then the shower curtain and shower. It’s all so cramped that sitting on the toilet puts you right by the shower. That may sound like a small thing, but showering leaves practically the entire little floor wet. Now I understand why it slopes so sharply from the doorway. What are you supposed to do on wet, sloping tiles? Be careful! The sink clearly hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while, which felt awful. The sheets and towels smelled moldy. I can only guess they’re dried in rooms like that and have gone stale.

The bed linen and towels were dirty, and there was no way to wash because they’d forgotten to switch on the boiler. It was a terrible place. The same price online was three times higher on site, and when I asked for a receipt, the price went up again.

The room is big, but those other photos make the place look much nicer than it is. Upstairs, there are awful fold-out beds instead of proper beds. There’s no kettle or toilet there, so you have to go downstairs to the first floor.

The location was great. What let it down was the owner trying to pull me into some kind of face-shit business, and being pretty intrusive about it.
