We could get around on foot easily. The hotel is near Ventspils Mūzikas Vidusskola, a mall, restaurants and fast-food places, and a grocery store. Vizium, Ventspils's life science museum, and other points of interest aren’t too far either. The glass building lets in lots of light and gives you a view outside. There’s a large multipurpose room, plus cosy spots to sit with tables and bean couches. A coffee machine and vending machine are there too. I also noticed a sweet little area under the stairs for parents and kids, with a play mat and toys. The room was spacious and had all the usual comforts. We missed having a hairdryer, but the beds were very comfortable and I slept warmly and well. The hotel staff were attentive and polite, and everyone was so kind to me on my first visit to Latvia. A lovely city, lovely people, and a nice hotel. Paldies! 🥰🤲🇱🇻

From the moment I walked in, the service felt awful. The front desk woman had a huge attitude for no reason, rolled her eyes, and spoke to me disrespectfully, as if doing her job were a favor and I was a bother just for being there. I only expected basic decency, nothing unreasonable, but she couldn’t even manage to act polite. That first impression made the whole hotel feel unwelcoming, like I ought to apologize for checking in.

The room was clean and the location was good, but it felt like a standard two-star hotel room. For 36€ a night, I expected more, including better service from the staff. The price doesn’t seem to match what you get. The walls are thin, and what sounded like a youth sports team nearby kept things very loud until 2 a.m. There aren’t many outlets, and the ones in the room are awkward to reach.

The Olympic center itself is great. Breakfast was pretty good too, better than you usually get in continental Europe. The hotel feels basic, more like somewhere athletes sleep between practices, and the beds could be better.

Nothing really stood out, but nothing was outright bad either. The building’s architecture is plain, and the rooms feel plain too. It’s a very average hotel, and I can’t say much about the experience.
