Hotel Riu Tikida Beach - Adults Only - All inclusive

The hotel was lovely and quiet, with a nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, spacious clean rooms, and plenty of food options. The drinks were decent too. Food was generally pretty good, especially at the bookable fancy restaurant, though the buffet was sometimes a bit cold, as you'd expect with all-inclusive. The pool areas were great and there was no loud music. One small pool was heated in February and lovely, but the huge pool was almost always empty because its water was Arctic cold. Why not heat both with a thermostat? The beach at this end was poor, a bit stony, with substandard loungers. Air conditioning didn't work, and even after reporting it, the shower still drained slowly. Our room faced the sun, and even with the balcony door open it took a long time to cool down enough for sleep, despite cooler nights. We saw temperatures of 24C, so no air con could be a real concern in peak heat. Golf was nearby, but pricey if you needed rental gear, and the rental equipment was poor. Organizing a game was a nightmare, so book in advance even if you only fancy a round. People on organized tours seemed to enjoy it.

It's only day two, but we're having such a lovely holiday. Angie and jose from the entertainment team are brilliant and so friendly. We even got to dress up in traditional Moroccan clothes and dance. They made my birthday really special. The waiters and all the other staff are kind and attentive, and the food is good, with a homemade feel.

We paid for a balcony, but our room had none, although the view was lovely. We arrived and waited over three hours for the room to be ready, so by then I was fed up and just wanted to get in. I would've asked to move otherwise. The location is great for a stroll to the harbour, and the food was lovely. My only criticism is that the front desk staff seemed offish and weren't keen to help. Everything felt like a lot of effort.

We're returning guests, and on arrival they had flowers, fruit, and cakes waiting in our room. The hotel is lovely, and while we were there they were painting rooms one by one and fitting new beds and duvets. What really makes the place is the staff. Nothing seems like too much trouble, and you feel they appreciate that you've spent your hard-earned money to choose their hotel. It's right by its own private section of beautiful beach, and the promenade is flat for about a half-hour walk to the marina. Our daughter has mobility issues, so the steps with handrails into both pools, instead of ladders, meant she could enjoy the holiday without compromise.
