Maison Marocaine

The garden and terrace made mornings feel especially calm. We had traditional Moroccan breakfasts with lots of choice, and dinner was cooked beautifully, with dessert and a romantic candlelit setting. Even the little dog greeting us at the gate made the house feel more like home. Staying at maison marocain was a real change from my usual experience as a young visitor from London. The traditional Moroccan style gave me the chance to stay somewhere with a very different feel. The rooms were comfortable, the bed was lovely, the wifi worked perfectly, and the bathrooms were clean and distinctly Moroccan. The host was patient, communicative, and made a real effort to talk with us. The staff were warm and always smiling. I was very happy with my stay, would rate it 10/10, and would definitely consider returning. Thank you very much.

Dinner at Maison Marocaine was the highlight for us. For 15€, we ate by candlelight in a romantic setting and could watch the staff cooking in the small kitchen. The food was incredibly tasty, and I still remember the mousse au chocolat with fresh orange zest. We stayed two nights after arriving in Agadir. The accommodation has a romantic country style, and the owner was kind and helpful. It’s peaceful, with a lovely large garden, and we didn’t feel surrounded by the city’s rush. It’s a little outside Agadir, which we actually liked. The center, old medina, and souk are only a few minutes away for little money. The rooms are simple but had everything we needed. If you’re after a luxury hotel, this probably isn’t the right place.

The dinners ended up being my favorite part of each day. I ate at the house the first night, then had dinner prepared by the charming hostess for the rest of my stay. They were impressive, welcoming meals that felt like nourishment for both body and heart. I’d come back just to enjoy the peace here again. I first booked two days and stayed seven. This felt like my home in Morocco: an authentic Moroccan house, a lush garden, and two lovely pets. The hosts felt like friends from the start. It’s a calm, safe place, and I found so much peace in the garden, sitting in the sun and listening to the birds. If you expect empty luxury, you may want to skip it. This house is full of local personality and gives you an authentic Moroccan stay. And if one or two bugs or some dust easily bother you, you probably shouldn’t consider visiting this wonderful country.
