The property looks pleasant and has a nice view, but the buggy outing turned into a very disappointing experience. We booked this hotel mainly for a buggy ride near Marrakech, and after lunch things quickly went downhill because of the unreliable outside provider they use. The vehicles were badly maintained. One buggy had to be swapped almost immediately because it wasn’t working, then the guide’s quad broke down too. We were left in the desert for about 40 minutes waiting for help. There were also repeated attempts to make us take and pay for two buggies even though we’d booked one. The hotel staff’s response made it unacceptable. They laughed at and mocked us instead of taking our concerns seriously, and were rude, arrogant and completely unprofessional. They made it clear there would be no compensation or price adjustment and expected us to pay the full amount regardless. After a long, exhausting argument where we felt effectively trapped, we paid just so we could leave and get back to Marrakech. I can’t recommend the hotel or its buggy provider, Buggy Sensation. The location has real potential, which makes the poor handling of the activity and treatment of guests all the more frustrating.

The views of the Atlas Mountains are insane, and the place feels incredibly special. Evenings were a highlight: good local wine, fires, a singer and stargazing. The food was exceptional, breakfast included. I still crave that fig cheese. Book the Astronomer and the Buggy rides too!

The setting has great potential, but the activity and the way guests were treated were completely unacceptable. Strongly not recommended, including their provider Buggy Sensation. We chose the hotel for a buggy experience near Marrakech. On arrival it looked lovely, with a beautiful view, but after lunch the ride quickly became a nightmare because the provider was so unreliable. The buggies were in poor condition: we had to change the first one because it wasn’t working, and then the guide’s quad broke down. We were stranded in the desert for around 40 minutes until another vehicle came. The organizer also tried several times to make us take and pay for two buggies when we had booked just one. The hotel staff made things worse. Instead of dealing with our complaints, they laughed at us and openly mocked us, acting rude, arrogant and disrespectful. They said no discount or compensation was possible and that we had to pay the full amount. After a long, very unpleasant discussion, we felt effectively “held hostage” and paid just so we could return to Marrakech.

The food was delicious, the view stunning, and the service top notch. The hotel itself was beautiful. But PLEASE put proper toilets in the rooms. That’s the only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five.

We were sorry to leave, but this was the highlight of our honeymoon in Morocco and we’ll remember it forever. We stayed one night at Les rochées noires in Agafay, and the setting made it feel like a unique experience. We were lucky to be the only guests, which made it even more special. The pool was big and clean, and we enjoyed it a lot. The camel ride was special too. Dinner by candlelight was very nice and romantic, with plenty to choose from: two tagines and lots of side dishes. I don’t usually like dessert, but this one was so good. Stargazing after dinner was nice, though perhaps not for people who aren’t interested in astronomy. The tent was nicely decorated, and I liked its look. It had a bathroom, shower and fan, which was very welcome in July. The mattress was really hard, though, so neither of us got much sleep. That was the only negative thing about the whole stay. Breakfast was also nice and filling, with local cheese, jam, honey, bread, Moroccan pancakes and, very important to my Italian husband, Nutella.
