Villa Dar Minzah

This hotel is 22 km outside the city center, and its shuttle service made the bad location even worse. There was just one trip into town each day and one return later, apparently timed mainly around transporting night-shift staff. Guests felt like an afterthought, often squeezed into the uncomfortable rear seats while staff sat closer to the front. The driver was routinely an hour late for pickup, and when I called, he lied about the estimated arrival time. He would also make major detours to collect staff or switch vehicles without warning us that the journey would take another hour. We felt seriously deceived. The hotel’s isolated location ruined our week, especially since there were no activities for bad weather. We spent a lot of time waiting for or sitting in the slow, late shuttle with a very rude driver. Only one or two staff members spoke English, and the main manager didn’t, so you need French. Parts of the hotel are run-down. The food and drinks cost too much, and there isn’t enough variety. Bottled water is much cheaper in the city. Breakfast was plain and very limited. They serve no alcohol, unlike other hotels in Morocco, and charge corkage if you bring your own, even though there’s no nearby supermarket. We felt trapped after a week and absolutely hated it. It was a colossal waste of money. We disliked it so much that we paid extra for a night in a riad in central Marrakesh just to get away from the badly located hotel and rude staff. A bizarre place.

We found the place warm, comfortable, and welcoming, and would happily recommend it. The rooms were spacious, smelled fresh, and had everything we needed. Everything was clean, the staff were very attentive, and breakfast was delicious. We didn’t see any of the problems other guests mentioned, like rust in cups, clutter, or unpleasant surprises. The two cats wandering around were clean and well cared for, and staff checked straight away that they weren’t bothering us. We liked having them around. I honestly can’t relate to the negative rating. We’d already booked by the time we saw it, and it would have put me off. Standards do vary from country to country, so a little flexibility helps. For us, the quiet, green setting was a real highlight. Les Jardins De Minzah By La Siredrah sits among palm and olive trees, with a magnificent view of the Atlas Mountains, a lovely escape from the city's bustle. There are three separate villas, and guests can use all of them, including their pools and amenities, which gives the place a spacious, free, luxurious feel. There’s also a tennis court, and we enjoyed the hammam and massages. The riad is outside central Marrakech, but a free shuttle runs to and from the medina in the morning and evening. Staff are also available to arrange excursions and activities. We had most of our itinerary planned, but their suggestions were even better. Our favorite was a private family trip to the waterfalls with a driver and guide, something that would have been hard to arrange on our own. Salah, the resort manager, was professional, elegant in his manner, attentive to every detail, and always available. The whole team stood out for their coordination, commitment, and genuine care. We felt less like tourists and more like guests in the home of close friends, welcomed with real warmth and sincerity. We’d return without hesitation. The distance from the center is the one drawback, but for anyone wanting excellent service, peace, and personal attention, the experience more than makes up for it.
