Abdou, a certified mountain guide, helped us set up our Toubkal circuit trek with a mule and muleteer. He and his daughters were incredibly kind and hospitable throughout our stay at Dar Amadine in Imlil. The homestay is beautifully placed above the valley, with stunning mountain views. Our room was clean and comfortable, and there’s a kitchen and rooftop terrace. We had a fantastic visit and would highly recommend staying with Abdou for a peaceful, authentic Berber experience, whether you’re planning a High Atlas trek or simply coming to Imlil.

The quiet and the views were a big part of what made this out-of-the-way guesthouse so appealing. From the terrace we spent hours eating or just looking out at the mountains, including iconic Toukbal. The room was comfortable, and we appreciated having air-conditioning. Abdou and his family made us feel very welcome, and the food was so delicious and authentically Moroccon. Getting there means a 10-minute walk up a stony path from Imlil, with luggage left to the Berber 4x4s or mules. For us, that only added to the remote feel. We also went trekking and camped overnight, with Abdou and his team taking care of everything. It was a unique experience we'll never forget. Many thanks to Jane, Abdou, his family, and his team of helpers.

We loved the peaceful setting at Dar Amadine, especially the lovely terrace overlooking the river and mountains. Eating home-cooked meals with Mount Toubkal in the background was wonderful, and the terrace was also a great place to catch the mountain sunrise if you have the energy. People in Imlil were so warm and friendly, and Abdou’s family made us feel especially welcome during our night there. His wife Khadija cooked a very tasty dinner and breakfast, while their daughters kindly served us and checked that we had what we needed. We had a really special stay and wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Morocco. Thanks to Abdou’s family for welcoming us to their village and taking such good care of us. We can’t wait to return.

I joined a group tour here for lunch, not an overnight stay. The guides handled the dining, and I enjoyed the tagine with an incredible view of the Atlas Mountains. The food was delicious.

My wife and I only wish we'd had more time with Abdou and his family in Imlil. His hospitality was among the warmest we experienced while travelling around Morocco. He made us feel so welcome, showed us the spectacular valley views, and told us about Berber life in the Atlas Mountains. His wife cooked one of the best meals we had on our trip, and his three girls were absolutely charming.
