Dar l'eau vive

The restaurant’s location and view are its real strengths. It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot, though construction to extend the pool made it less calm during our visit. Service was slow even with few people there. It took half an hour to get a drink, although the servers were respectful. There’s a varied Moroccan menu, and the food was decent overall. My chicken with dghmira was overcooked, the roasted vegetables were good, and the rice was bland. The desserts were much better. I had the creme caramel, which was smooth and creamy, with orange flavor and a hint of orange, but not too sweet.

The view across the river and the calm atmosphere make Dar L’Eauvive a lovely place to sit and relax. It’s spacious and tastefully decorated, with each corner having its own look. The food was delicious and had an authentic Moroccan flavor. The goat tagine was rich and well cooked, and the salad was fresh. Prices felt too high for the area: 360 dirhams for a goat tagine for three, and 20 dirhams for a simple Moroccan salad. We also had to keep asking for more bread to eat with the tagine. The servers delayed bringing it, and we eventually had to insist firmly. Service was slow at times, but polite once we spoke up. It’s a beautiful spot, though the service needs more attention and the prices should better match what’s offered.

Even though I had a confirmed Booking.com reservation and showed proof of it, the property refused to let me check in, saying they had received no confirmation. Nobody tried to sort it out or help, and the staff were dismissive and unprofessional. I was left to find somewhere else to stay and pay for it myself, which cost me money and caused a lot of inconvenience. I strongly advise against booking here. It’s unreliable and the customer service falls below basic standards.

The food was delicious and even better than we expected. The staff were incredibly helpful, assisted us with car trouble, and went out of their way to make our anniversary feel special.
