Gray Hotel Casablanca

The place badly needs refurbishment. Our shallow balcony had a glass door off its track, and my friend found fungus in her kettle. Someone else’s hair dryer burned out. In the kitchenette, cupboard doors were hanging off their hinges, the fridge wasn’t switched on, and there was no cutlery or crockery at all. At breakfast, the self serve coffee was behind the counter, but no staff member was around because they were looking for the three teaspoons in the venue. They also charged us twice, so check whether you’ve already paid before paying again. I’m not sure where the people who wrote the good reviews stayed, but it wasn’t here.

After a long flight from NZ, a friend and I booked massages at Wellness Gray on 4 September 2025. I’ve sent two messages complaining about the inappropriate, disrespectful behavior during mine and haven’t had a response. The woman massaging me giggled while touching my breasts and laughed. When working on the tops of my legs, she got uncomfortably close to my pubic area. My friend had a separate massage and experienced the same thing. It was the least relaxing massage I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend getting one here.

I stayed three nights at the Gray Boutique Hotel in Casablanca. The location was very good: I could walk to many places, and inDrive made it easy to get a ride when somewhere was too far on foot. The rooms were okay and had a separate sitting area. Service was only so-so. The front desk wouldn’t break larger bills into smaller notes and coins, which is inconvenient in a country where cash is used so much. The included breakfast buffet also kept running out of food and couldn’t cope with the number of guests.

The rooms are dirty, so avoid this place. It feels like no money has gone into upkeep: sockets are partly broken, the TV barely works, and the safe is out of order. There’s a coffee machine but no coffee. Room service and the bar only operate at very limited times, so you can’t get something as simple as soda or a bottle of water after 8 pm.
