Relax Apartment (Near Casa Voyageurs)

The room was clean, and it was handy having eateries nearby, a mall with a supermarket next door, and the train station within walking distance. The bus station for the public bus to Hassan II was also nearby. The concierge staff were friendly and attentive. The room lights were dim, though the area by the door was bright, so it wasn’t suitable for working or reading at the desk or in bed. The toilet wall facing the room was glass, and the sink drained poorly. We called twice to ask for extra lamps. The in-room phone started with a casual “Hello,” then immediately hung up both times. When we asked an attendant in person, they said brighter lamps weren’t available.

We arrived as a group late at night with six rooms booked through the hotel website, but found only five available. I checked everyone in, then had to go out with my suitcase at 3 a.m. to find another hotel. The group wasn’t happy with the place: service was poor and breakfast was basic. There was also a construction site nearby, and getting to the hotel on foot meant walking along the road.

Relax Casa Voyageurs is about 1 km from Casa Voyageurs and is attached to Tachfine Center, which has a mall. It felt like a safe area, and having reception open 24 hours was useful. Be careful crossing the road, though. Some cars may not stop even when the light is green.

This was our first proper hotel in Morocco. The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of pillows and a fridge, and the staff were professional. It’s part of a shopping mall with a supermarket, close to the train station, and there’s a taxi stop right out front. Great value.
