The kitchen young women were friendly and gave good service. But when I arrived, reception had gone out, leaving me waiting in the hot sun for them to come back. The rooms are extremely small and not mobility-friendly, with many stairs to climb, which is difficult with big luggage. The first lady I dealt with was not helpful. She kept saying she couldn’t help with my luggage and wasn’t a servant to carry guest bags. So much for customer service.

The old city center stairs are right in front of the place, and the location is wonderful. The heaters were warm enough for Chefchaouen’s bitterly cold night, and showering was good too. But the hot water tank only holds enough for two people, so a group of more than 4 has to wait. I liked this place mainly because its restaurant served the best breakfast of our Morocco trip.

A very bad experience. There were five of us, but one bed was missing. The listing said “sofa bed,” but it was only a couch. The house was clearly dirty when we arrived: sheets had blood and concrete stains, and there was hair in the dirty bathroom. The owner took cash, then cancelled the Booking reservation the next morning so we couldn’t leave feedback and he wouldn’t have to pay Booking commissions.

There’s a nice range of apartments in different sizes to rent. Make sure you have the owners’ email address in case your arrival time changes, since there’s no reception. They can usually get there fairly quickly to let you in. The entrance is down a short, narrow alley, opposite and about 10 meters offset from Chez Aziz restaurant.
