Chergui Kasbah

The clay brick walls were beautiful, and I loved getting to stay in a traditional kasbah. My room and bed were super clean, and the place felt like a little paradise in the desert. The pool was gorgeous, and the breakfast and dinner buffets made me feel like royalty. Big thanks to Foulay Mohamed and the restaurant servers for keeping on top of everything for all 42 people in my tour group during both meals. Mohamed even taught me a few phrases in the local dialect, which was a highlight. I felt like a Disney princess in my kasbah castle. A must-see attraction in itself!

The atmosphere was so calm and quiet, a lovely break after Morocco’s busy cities. It would be great for couples wanting some peace and time together. The meals were the best I had in Morocco, even after visiting several cities. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. La Casbah Cherhui is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Its arches, walls, and corridors feel carefully handcrafted, and the original furniture makes the whole place feel like living inside a work of art. The rich, warm colors balance elegance with authenticity. It feels soulful and creative, truly Moroccan, without being commercial or pretentious. The dinner buffet had plenty to choose from. There are also two big sitting areas, one on either side of a bar with a wall behind it. Set at the edge of the Sahara, this is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are large and nicely decorated, like the rest of the place. There’s a huge inner courtyard with a pool.

The staff were very friendly, and the on-site restaurant served a tasty international buffet. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well lit, though the beds and pillows were quite firm. We were on the first floor, and there’s no elevator, so we carried our own luggage up one flight of stairs. Staff can help if needed. I did wish the room had a kettle and coffee. The hotel is nicely laid out, with traditional decor and a pleasant courtyard and pool. It’s in a town that serves as a gateway to the desert. My five stars are relative to other hotels in Morocco, rather than a five-star standard in the US.
