Our booking wasn't honored, and during festival season we were left scrambling around trying to find somewhere to stay.

A charming riad with a warm, friendly welcome and service. The rooms are spacious, and breakfast on the terrace is generous. From up there, you get a lovely view of the port, the city, and the ocean. Being in the medina also makes it quick to reach the souk and explore the city and its ramparts.

They cancelled our room because of "works" just 1 day before we were due to arrive in Essaouira. We were already in Morocco and had to find somewhere at the last minute, which cost much more. Shameful.

My Booking.com reservation had been confirmed, but when I got there the door was locked. After asking around and making calls with help from the neighbors, I found out the riad was closed for renovations.

The riad was closed when we got there, even though our reservation was confirmed. I've never had anything like that happen before. We had to find somewhere else on site, and I strongly advise against this accommodation.
