Pacha Palace

Riad Sultana sent us here after canceling our reservation at the last minute. The room they offered, at the back of the ground floor, was damp and smelly, with really dirty carpets and a run-down bathroom. It was awful. I was clearly upset, and the man in charge had the nerve to ask, “Why are you so mad?” I don’t think he would have said that to a man. They eventually tried to intimidate us by saying everything was full because it was busy season. We left and found a much nicer, cheaper riad without any trouble.

The place is spacious and conveniently located just outside the Medina. Yaseen and another gentleman on staff were kind and took good care of the guests.

I liked Muhammad’s kindness and helpfulness, and the breakfast had a great variety. The car park and Medina are conveniently close, too. I spent a week at Riad Pacha Place, but the WiFi in my room was so limited that working was difficult. There were also a few maintenance problems, including missing door handles and bathroom walls that needed replastering. The terrace could be a lovely place to relax with better seating and upkeep.

The room was large, air-conditioned, and well equipped. Staff welcomed us with mint tea and explained how to avoid getting lost in the Medina’s 9400 streets. Breakfast was really tasty, too. The riad is in a quiet, well-placed spot, just a two-minute walk from the Medina’s main street. It wasn’t easy to find because Google Maps didn’t work properly and there weren’t enough directions. From the parking lot, follow the street shown on Maps, then take the first left.
